Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian singer-songwriter. Her albums span over 20 years. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk and alternative rock although it includes influences from punk funk hiphop and jazz. Ani DiFranco has been widely acknowledged as a feminist icon and Grammy-winning performer, is regarded as the pioneer of DIY music. She was one of the first musicians to launch the label she created in 1990. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The mother of her is from Montreal and her father is from Italian origins. 32 Flavors is a hit song recorded that was performed and written by Ani DiFranco. It was included on her 1995 sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. A variation of the song was featured on the soundtrack to the 1999 Canadian love story Better Than Chocolate.
